Terms of Service

1. What SueMate Is (and Isn't)
SueMate (“we,” “us”) is a consumer-facing tool operated by SueMate LLC that provides general legal information, document templates, and educational resources to help everyday people understand civil lawsuits and consumer rights. We are not a law firm, we do not provide legal advice, and using SueMate does not create an attorney-client relationship. The information and AI-generated responses on SueMate are provided for educational purposes only and should not be relied upon as a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use SueMate. By using the service, you represent that you meet this requirement.
3. Your Account
If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us at the contact below if you believe your account has been compromised.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use SueMate to: (a) violate any applicable law; (b) harass, threaten, or defame others; (c) submit false or misleading information; (d) attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the service; (e) resell, redistribute, or repackage SueMate’s content without written permission; or (f) use the AI chat for purposes outside of general legal information, including but not limited to drafting legal filings we will be held responsible for.
5. Subscriptions and Payment
Paid plans are billed through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us (via Stripe) to charge the payment method you provide on a recurring basis until you cancel. You can cancel at any time through the Stripe customer portal or by contacting us. Except where required by law, subscription fees are non-refundable once a billing period has begun. We may change pricing for future billing periods with reasonable notice.
6. No Professional Advice
Nothing on SueMate — including wizard results, generated documents, AI chat responses, complaint templates, statute-of-limitations reminders, or case evaluations — constitutes legal, financial, tax, or professional advice. Laws vary by state and change frequently. You should consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction before taking any action based on information you receive through SueMate.
7. AI-Generated Content
SueMate uses third-party AI services to generate chat responses. AI output may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. We have implemented safeguards to reduce the risk of inaccurate legal specifics, but we cannot guarantee accuracy. You are responsible for verifying any information before relying on it. Do not share confidential or privileged information through the chat; your messages are sent to our AI provider for processing.
8. Intellectual Property
SueMate, including its interface, content, templates, and branding, is owned by SueMate LLC and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use SueMate for your personal, non-commercial legal research. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
SueMate is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SueMate LLC and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of SueMate. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars, whichever is greater.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SueMate LLC from any claim, damage, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of SueMate, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party right.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to SueMate at any time, with or without cause or notice, including for violations of these Terms. You may stop using SueMate and delete your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including payment obligations, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification) will continue in effect.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the service or by email. Your continued use of SueMate after a change takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and, where applicable, the state in which SueMate LLC is incorporated, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in that jurisdiction, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
